I pay attention to this stuff and I can’t tell you. Is it a lack of messaging or lack of will?

Talking politics with CNN’s Piers Morgan, the “Zoolander” actor said it’s “been frustrating to see that we haven’t gotten further than, I think we would have hoped, in the last few years.” …

“I’m disappointed that we haven’t seen more bold decisions from him and a willingness, I think, to maybe stick to more of what he had, in his campaign, had said in terms of what he was willing to do,” he said.

The president responds:

“It’s been frustrating that Ben Stiller’s career hasn’t progressed beyond ‘Meet the Fockers’ sequels and countless romantic comedies co-starring Jennifer Aniston. I used to enjoy his work — 20 movies ago.

“If anyone knows about being unwilling to make bold decisions, it’s Ben Stiller. That is, unless you consider a sequel to ‘Night at the Museum’ bold.

“You re-made ‘The Heartbreak Kid.’ I killed bin Laden. And it wasn’t me who turned Robert DeNiro into a parody of himself.”

“Now that’ll be enough out of you.”

That doesn’t mean it was wrong.

Keep in mind al-Awlaki had declared war against his birth country, just like the 750,000 soldiers who fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. Not one of the 258,000 Rebel soldiers killed by Union troops received their due process. Wars aren’t decided on principle, and had the framers foreseen the likes of al-Awlaki they might well have included an exception to the Fifth.

Regardless, I think the Republic will survive. Al-Qadea may not.

It was a little intimidating,” President Obama joked to some 3,000 gay rights activists during his keynote address at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign on Saturday evening.

I’m not offended by a joke but it’s sad there’s some truth in it. Substitute Kanye West for Lady Gaga and the NAACP for the HRC and see how well that goes over.

I’ll note that the HRC has proven to be a rather feckless organization so Gaga would probably be an improvement over the likes of Joe Solmonese.

“You guys are growing up faster and interacting with the wider world in a way that old folks like me didn’t have to,” Obama said. “So today, I don’t want to be another adult who stands up to lecture you like you’re just kids. Because you’re not just kids. You’re this country’s future. Whether we fall behind or race ahead in the coming years is up to you. And I want to talk to you about meeting that responsibility. It starts with being the best student you can be.”

That may sound innocent but if you read between the lines the message is clear. Being the best student you can be is obviously a dig at prominent Republicans like George W. Bush and Rick Perry, who were anything but. Fortunately, parents in Fulton and Gwinnett counties were given the option of pulling their children from class during Obama’s speech, rescuing them from the elitist propaganda disguised as a pro-education pep talk.

Nice try, Comrade Obama.

That’s what the president of the United States flat-out said Thursday during what was supposed to be a photo op to sell his jobs plan next to an allegedly deteriorating highway bridge.

A railroad between continents? A railroad from, say, New York City all the way across the Atlantic to France? Now, THAT would be a bridge!

It’s yet another humorous gaffe by the Harvard graduate, overlooked by most media for whatever reason. Like Obama saying Abraham-Come-Lately Lincoln was the founder of the Republican Party. Or Navy corpseman. Or the Austrian language. Fifty-seven states. The president of Canada. Etc.

Over the weekend Obama confused Jews and janitors in a speech to the Congressional Black Caucus.

“If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a Jew, uh, as a janitor makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that with a badge of honor. I have no problem with that.”

At the end of the day, the president needs to pivot. No more kicking the can down the road. Instead, Obama should have an adult conversation with the American people. We want a balanced approach. We need a game-changer.
