Now, half-white Barack Obama (exactly my age) didn’t say a word, even though he was talking to college kids that day, but make no mistake, MCA was no Jay-Z or Kanye West. This guy was the real deal, groundbreaker, up from his bootstraps, Brooklyn boy made good. Funny the “coolest president ever” doesn’t say a word about the passing of MCA. Weird and kinda sad, actually.

I didn’t know Jay-Z grew up next door to the Romneys.

The president took time from his busy schedule to comment on the passing of black musicians. When Whitney Houston, a longtime crack addict, died this year, the White House put out a statement. “I know that [Mr. Obama‘s] thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially her daughter,” press secretary Jay Carney said. “It’s a tragedy to lose somebody so talented at such a young age.”

And when accused pedophile and drug addict Michael Jackson died in 2009, the White House weighed in with the president’s thoughts. “He said to me that obviously, Michael Jackson was a spectacular performer, a music icon,” spokesman Robert Gibbs said. “And his condolences went out to the Jackson family and to fans that mourned his loss.”

Curl conveniently neglects to mention that my mother and yours know who Houston and Jackson are. They’ve probably never heard of Adam Yauch. Obama, like all presidents, was responding to a media-driven communal mourning, not editorializing on whose life was more valuable.

Besides, MJ is white.

Of course, if Obama had noted the passing of Yauch, conservatives would have criticized him for lauding a left-wing activist.

Parents are upset after an article meant to be an April Fools’ Day joke in a school newspaper ended up calling President Barack Obama a Nazi.

The article was published in the newspaper at Sprayberry High School in Cobb County.

Students told Channel 2′s Ross Cavitt the article, entitled, “Top twenty reasons why Obama should not get re-elected,” in Sprayberry’s The Zinger was meant to be a joke.

Parents are upset not only by what the article said, but also that the faculty adviser approved the article to be published. Within the article, the newspaper listed reasons such as “He’s black” and “He’s a Nazi.”

How dare they grasp parody!

Predictably, school administrators felt it necessary to apologize.

“Unfortunately this was a poor attempt at humor (that) didn’t come across very well. The students have apologized for it. They sent out a video message to the rest of the school this morning and they posted a message on the school website as well,” Jay Dillon with the Cobb County School District said.

Predictably, that’s not good enough for the outrage mongers.

I don’t think there is any excuse for what was done and I don’t think that an administrator should have approved any such article to be printed in a school paper. I think it divides the students. It teaches them to dislike one another. It wasn’t appropriate at all,” parent Danisha Crummie said

Sounds like something Rusty Limbo would say. A constitutional lawyer knows better.

Since the ouster of Mr. Mubarak, however, many younger and reform-minded members have said they have grown disappointed with Mr. Shater. They say he has enforced an insular and hierarchical culture left over from the group’s decades underground. Mr. Shater led a push to bar Brotherhood members from dissenting from the political stands of its Freedom and Justice Party, and he led the expulsion of those who sought less conservative Islamist politics.

To those who reflexively blame President Obama, a question: Would you have intervened militarily to keep the Murbarak regime in power? Because that’s what it would have taken to prevent last year’s democratic uprising.

America has no business suppressing the will of the people, here or abroad. Unfortunately, the Muslim Brotherhood seems likely to impose its will on Egyptians whether they like it or not.

“Is the president suggesting if it had been a white who had been shot, that would be OK because it wouldn’t look like him?” Gingrich said Friday on Sean Hannity’s radio show. “That’s just nonsense. I mean, dividing this country up, it is a tragedy this young man was shot.”

In a separate radio interview Friday, Santorum had a similar reaction.

“What the president of the United States should do is try to bring people together, not use these types of horrible and tragic individual cases to try to drive a wedge in America,” Santorum said.

And they wonder why the GOP has trouble attracting black voters.
